Uncover Culinary Surprises, Emerging Nightlife and Art Passion

The sensational opening of the first phase of Festive Walk Parade in December 2016 introduced another upscale destination in the city. Here, you can choose among the best homegrown restaurants and bistros that offer Ilonggo cuisine and delicacies like Griller’s Oyster House, Food Chanel and a lot more.  There are specialty and souvenir shops reminding you that Iloilo is a city of keepsakes and “pasalubongs” with Biscocho Haus and Tinukib. From Thursday to Sunday, 5PM onwards, there's a great attraction in Festive Walk Parade called "Festive Nights" that offers an exciting chill-out open-air food escapade for visitors and onlookers from various food sellers set in street food concept. Nightly music gigs from local artists and open mic singing show are intended to entertain the crowd within the area. Another reason to visit the Festive Walk Parade is the newly-opened Iloilo Museum for Contemporary Art (ILOMOCA), where you can get to see some stunning artworks from famous local and international visual artists. There's a souvenir shop inside and exceptionally classy attractions to see inside. This is the first-ever museum for contemporary arts in the Visayas and Mindanao regions. Entrance fee is P100 for regular visitors and P50 for students. For Ilonggos, the Festive Walk Parade is swiftly becoming the center for different events and celebrations in the city that offers a breathtaking ambiance to relax, unwind and meet people from all walks of life.

Destination for Photo Lovers and Selfies

There is no doubt that Iloilo Business Park is now considered as the “most photographed destination” in the city since the opening of the Iloilo Convention Center, an international conference venue showcasing the rich culture of Iloilo City’s Paraw Regatta and Dinagyang Festival. The exterior fins are inspired by the Paraw sailing boats and the glass artwork replicates the dynamic Dinagyang warriors. Looking around the township, there are more scenic spots and views to do your “selfie” such as the shinning blue-colored building of Richmonde Hotel Iloilo, the classic-designed buildings of Festive Walk Parade, the modern edifice-look of Iloilo Business Park Sales and Information Center with the Megaworld signage outside. Soon, more and more destinations will be opening this year at the township worthy of your “photo-snapping” and social media sharing habit. You’ve never been to Iloilo City if you won’t drop by at Iloilo Business Park for some photo snaps using your phones.

Strolling and Appreciating Nature

Aside from the fact that Iloilo Business Park is designed to be a commercial-business township, it is also envisioned to become a place where people can commune with nature, away from the stressful crowd and pollution. Though Iloilo City is still a less-crowded metropolis that offers more lifestyle and business options, Iloilo Business Park best represents its vision to harmonize nature, wide spaces and create a sense of balance between progress and healthy lifestyle. In Festive Walk Parade, the newly-opened shop-and-dine strip, visitors can stroll around while enjoying a relaxing ambiance. They get the best views of city-life without compromising their health. They can choose among the best restaurants they want to dine in and get to enjoy a quiet moment away from the city’s hustle and bustle. Iloilo Business Park offers spaces of greens, pocket gardens, mini fountains, small parks and spaces to move around. BPO workers employed in nearby BPO buildings can breathe fresh air after a stressful workload.

What was left behind the rich imagination of investors and Ilonggos for Iloilo Business Park is making it as the “art capital” of Western Visayas. But this promising concept is now within reach and will soon magnetize global art lovers and enthusiasts with the opening of another revolutionary destination, the Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Arts (ILOMOCA). It’s another vision fulfilled for the township by fusing “art life” to the lifestyle mix.
Megaworld Commercial Senior Vice President Kevin Tan passionately led the official opening of ILOMOCA in Iloilo Business Park on March 17, 2018. Together with him are Megaworld bigwigs Chief Operating Officer Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso and Iloilo Business Park Vice President for Sales and Marketing Jennifer Ann Palmares-Fong welcomed visitors and guests. Joining them during the unveiling are exhibit curator Martin Genodepa and art patron Edwin Valencia who gladly talked about the museum’s visionary concept.

Most of the impressive art collections was loaned by Ilonggo artist Edwin Valencia, including about 125 works, as well as established Ilonggo artists Rock Drilon, Ed Defensor and Jose Tence Ruiz. Also, it include original artworks by Salvador Dali, Joan Miro and Marc Chagall, and many other rising artists, such as Clairelyn Uy, Toti Cerda and Metrobank Artist awardee Moreen Austria, whose mixed-metal sculpture attract visitors at the museum entrance.

Kevin Tan explained that ILOMOCA is a significant step in Megaworld’s new commitment to art spaces. Also planned in the next two years for other Megaworld townships across the country include a Chinese heritage museum in Binondo (Lucky Chinatown Museum) set to honor the Chinese community in the Philippines over the past 400 years; a museum in Mactan exploring Magellan and Lapu-Lapu that will “pay homage to our heroes”; and possibly a Pampanga museum honoring the sugar industry and its impact on the Philippines.

Creating ILOMOCA is rooted from Megaworld’s passion to inspire Ilonggos, as well as visitors and investors to emphasize the significance of establishing a gorgeous space for culture and the arts, a heartfelt commitment of the company to blend modern lifestyle with timeless heritage. The museum itself is a sincere reminder that aside from creating opportunities and expanding the tourism potential of the township and the whole Iloilo City, giving a place for art, culture and history re-educates, empowers and redefines the strong essence of living in a township that values a timeless appreciation of the past and the future. It is all about transforming lives with passion and embracing wisdom while living in a stunning township of promising opportunities.

Located inside the Case de Emperador, near the well-known Ilonggo hero Martin Delgado’s impressive statue, and the main attraction of the posh Festive Walk Parade fountain area, the P110-million worth ILOMOCA showcases a gorgeous gift shop called “Hulot,” a Hiligaynon term for room located in the lobby that’s free to the public, and a theater space at the second floor called “The Box,” where art performances and film screenings are envisioned to be shown for guests. The three-story museum, with close to 3,000 square meters of space is dedicated to showcase the works of mostly Filipino and Ilonggo artists within the realms of modern, regional, and contemporary art.
ILOMOCA is open from Tuesdays to Saturday, 10AM to 7PM, with tickets at P100 for regular admission and P50 for students.

ILOMOCA is slowly positioning Iloilo City known as Asia’s "City of Love" into a future "City of Art and Culture." Megaworld makes it all happen by remaining true to its passion to create inspiring life beyond lifestyle and upscale developments with priceless vision. Lives are being transformed and enriched when you live in Iloilo Business Park.
